Blog Reflection #2

Recent Occupations that are Valuable to Me:

  1. Played tennis with my boyfriend
    1. This occupation is related to nostalgia and my present time. Since I grew up playing tennis, getting back on the court is always nostalgic. Tennis is also my active outlet at this present time in my life.
    2. I gained personal satisfaction and personal awareness during this occupation; I was able to teach and share the sport of tennis with an important person in my life.
  2. Took a solo road trip to Tennessee to see my best friend who started her Nurse Practioner program.
    1. This occupation was present in time as it was a spontaneous and last-minute decision to drive out there. It also brought back memories from our past considering we have been friends since kindergarten. This is also related to a future goal of mine; being more spontaneous, and adventurous, and taking more time to visit long-distance friends.
    2. This occupation gave me personal awareness and openness to new opportunities; not holding myself back from doing something out of my comfort zone and without a plan. I also gained personal satisfaction as I did good for myself, giving myself alone time in the car and taking this trip alone.
  3. Started school as a first-year OT student
    1. This occupation is related to my long-term goal of becoming an Occupational Therapist. I have had this goal for many years, and this is a big step in reaching it!
    2. I gained personal satisfaction from starting OT school as this is a big step to getting closer to a long-term goal I have had for many years; becoming an occupational therapist. I also gained satisfaction because I am alongside other first-year OT students who also value starting school as an OT student
